Chakalaka, South African delicacy is
a traditionally spicy dish served with bread, mealie pap, samp, stews or
curries.
It can
also be served hot or cold, over with slices of bread, or as a condiment for
grilled meats.
Ingredients

(15-ounce) can baked beans in tomato sauce

1
medium onions, chopped

2
bell peppers
-
2
teaspoons curry powder
-
2
tomatoes, chopped
-
3
tablespoons oil
-
2
hot chili peppers, minced
-
2
garlic, minced
-
Salt
and pepper to taste
Method
-
Heat
oil in a large saucepan over medium flame.

Add
the onions, bell peppers, chili peppers, garlic and curry powder.

Sauté,
stirring frequently, until the onions and peppers are cooked down and wilted,
about 4 to 5 minutes.

Stir
in the tomatoes and bring to a boil.

Lower
the heat to simmer for about 5 minutes.

Stir
in the baked beans, salt and pepper and stir to heat through. Serve hot or
cold.
