HOW TO PREPARE AADUN

                                      
Aadun is another food snack for Yoruba’s, that is made with a combination of roasted corn flour, palm oil and spices. There are varieties of this snack which contains fried red cowpeas.
 It is mostly sold as street snack and also present in festive functions like naming ceremonies and traditional marriages
Ingredients:

  • 1 cup roasted corn flour
  • ¼ cup palm oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon chilli powder
  • Crayfish (optional)
Directions:
1. Get corn dried, like those ones use in making ogi(pap).
Fry it till its done.
In a sizeable  bowl, combine all the ingredients. Using your hands, thoroughly combine and knead the mixture until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
2. Let the mixture rest at room temperature for 2-3 hours. Mold into desired shape and serve.
Another method of preparation(Using Beans):
The items needed:
1. Beans                     
2. Palm oil
3. Grounded fried maize
4 Peppers
1.  Boil the beans (add salt) to a point that it is just soft, but still solid.
2.  Heat your oil in a sizeable pot and pour in your beans into the hot oil, fry to the point when you notice the oil foaming, and coming out of the beans. That means the Aadun is getting ready.
3. When the foaming is much, remove it and use it for the next batch of frying.
4. Then mix the powdered fried maize and spice it. It is ready, and should be  served hot.
