Cameroon palm nut concentrate soup (Banga soup) is easy to cook because the palm nut is already in a can, and there are different types, depending on your choice.
Ingredient
Meat
Smoked fish
Cow tripe
Stock fish
Canned palm nut
Crayfish
Stock cube
Pepper
Salt to taste
Vegetable
Directions
1.
Pour the palm nut concentrate into a
sizable pot, and rinse the palm nut can with water. Add 4-5 cups of water
inside the pot, depending on the quantity, and allow it to boil.
2.
Add your stock fish, smoked fish,
crayfish, stock cubes and 1 teaspoon of salt, then cover the pot.
3.
Allow
the pot to cook for 10-15 minutes. After that, put your boiled meat and cow
tripe.
4.
Add your vegetable and stir to taste. Cook
for another 10 minutes.
Serve
with any swallow of your choice.
Nice recipe but you should make qcorrection pls. That isn't 'banga soup' It's probably the 'Cameroon palm nut soup' which is totally different from the Niger -Delta type with the way it's was prepared above. Banga soup originated from the Niger Delta and it's mostly prepared by the Itsekiri, Ijaws and Urhobos. There's no way the above which doesn't not include the necessary traditional ingredients which gives it the distinctive ' banga' flavour and taste is called 'banga' soup and am sure Cameroon people do not call that soup as prepared above banga. They use same palm nut but different recipes and preparation method.
